It is no secret that the current global disruptions to traditional television stem from content streaming and Over-The-Top (OTT) distribution and consumption. This shift is creating various challenges for many broadcasting and media houses, forcing them to reinvent their offerings and form partnerships in order to attract customers, maximise revenues and exploit the best opportunities brought by the ability to provide OTT services.
Based on the new ways, models and platforms for provisioning digital broadcasting and media services in a converged media ecosystem, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), in partnership with the Broadcasting Organisations Of Nigeria (BON), together with industry representatives from major industry organisations such as the Electronic Media Owners Association Of Nigeria (EMCOAN), the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN), and the Independent Broadcasting Association is convening an important summit from Tuesday, 22 March and Thursday 24 March 2022, in Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the organisers and partners, the summit will take the opportunity to discuss and share ideas on the current viewing habits and untapped video segments, which are expected to be an integral part of the next generation of OTT content generation and distribution.
