During the conversation, Dearlove was asked, ‘how do you know if your collection has commercial value?’.
In tackling this question, Dearlove highlighted that understanding your market is one of the most fundamental processes you need to embark on. She further added that institutions need to think beyond their geographical location when considering the commercialising of their content. Therefore, it is vitally important to think outside yourself and structure your plans based on the target market, added Dearlove.
