The producers have announced that GidiBoxOffice’s first original film, 13 LETTERS, will be released in all cinemas nationwide on October 1, 2021. Kunle Remi, Mofe Duncan, Teddy A, Amanda Dara, Adeherself, Chris Iheuwa, Bolanle Ninalowo, Bimbo Ademoye, Ariyike Dimples, and others star in Kayode Peters’ 13 LETTERS.
The film follows Akinola Owolabi, played by Kunle Remi, the 2010 Gulder Ultimate Search winner, a chronic playboy. He faces tremendous backlash when his ex-girlfriends vent their frustrations on social media. Remi agreed to play the part because “it’s a story about social media, as well as the ideals it teaches people to live well and live right.”
‘Social media,’ he argues, is a platform where people can socialise, share thoughts, opinions, and entertainment. It is not a courtroom or a therapist’s office.’ He invited the audience to enjoy the film and to use social media to offer their honest criticism, conversation, and anything else that was on their minds about it.
The Director, Kayode Peters, disclosed what prompted the idea and title, saying, “The idea is not mine.” Executive Producer Kikelomo introduced the notion, and I bought into it. She even came up with the title before we decided on the plot. You may call her “intelligently insane.”
According to Executive Producer Kikelomo Moronkeji, 13 LETTERS is about treating people the way you want to be treated. Do unto others how you would like done to you.
“Gidi Box Office is a new Nollywood Movie Streaming Platform that offers cinematic Nollywood movies to a global audience,” Moronkeji explained. Our customer base is regularly expanding, as people appreciate the carefully curated content we provide. We do all the legwork in finding unique content so our viewers do not have to.
” In a first-of-its-kind venture, 13 Letters will be shown on Live Cinema. As mentioned above, this means you are covered even if you’re not in Nigeria. To get your viewing ticket, go to GidiBoxOffice.com or download the app. Users will be able to see 13 Letters on October 1. So naturally, many people are thrilled to see Nigerian films on their devices.”
