Airtel Uganda has officially launched a new network site in Rwemikoma, Kazo District, as part of its ongoing initiative to bridge the digital divide and enhance connectivity throughout the country.

This initiative aims to improve 4G coverage, allowing more people to access high-speed internet, enjoy clearer voice calls, and utilise digital services like mobile money.

The telecom’s new infrastructure improves communication and presents residents with significant financial and employment opportunities.

The addition of the 4G site in Kazo is also expected to positively affect regional security. With enhanced network connections, residents will be able to set up security cameras in their homes and on their farms.

Moreover, the launch served as a reminder for users to prioritise internet safety. Customers were advised to remain vigilant and protect their data, particularly mobile money PINs.

“We are now providing improved network speeds and reliability, ensuring that the residents of Kazo District can experience seamless connectivity throughout their community,” stated Airtel.

According to Maiso Andrew, Airtel’s territory business manager, the goal is to connect the people of Kazo to the global community, fostering digital inclusion for all and enabling connections worldwide through their mobile devices.

Samuel Rumaari, chairperson of LC3, remarked that the upgraded network contributes to safety by allowing property surveillance.

“With this 4G mast, residents can install cameras to monitor their properties, helping them identify potential thieves or unwanted individuals near their homes and farms,” he noted.
