Italian Sparkle and AI-Bawaba are joining forces to enhance connectivity in Libya, highlighting the country’s digital transformation and innovation potential. This week, the two companies announced a partnership that focuses on providing corporate connectivity services backed by a robust infrastructure.
The collaboration utilises AI-Bawaba’s national backbone and Sparkle’s international expertise to deliver Ethernet multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), a technology designed to boost business network efficiency. Sparkle views this agreement as a landmark achievement for the telecommunications sector in Libya, and both companies are set to create an end-to-end solution that combines Sparkle’s extensive service offerings and international reach with AI-Bawaba’s local market knowledge.
Barbara Sole, Sparkle’s head of data sales for Africa, emphasised Libya’s importance in achieving digital transformation: “By merging our global experience and comprehensive submarine cable network with AI-Bawaba’s deep understanding of the local market, we are devoted to providing enhanced connectivity solutions. We aim to drive digital transformation in the region and unlock new avenues for growth and innovation in this vital market.”
In a similar sentiment, Mohammed Algharyani, deputy chairman of AI-Bawaba, noted, “Partnering with Sparkle, a recognised global leader in telecommunications, strengthens our commitment to offering excellent service quality and enhanced connectivity. Together, we are positioned to deliver our customers secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions that align with the evolving needs of the telecom landscape.”
