The Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) has confirmed that it has acquired the rights to broadcast 52 live matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) via television and radio.
The corporation’s Director General, Dr Ayub Rioba, confirmed in Dar es Salaam Tuesday.
“We have acquired rights to broadcast the 2023 AFCON matches through Television and Radio.
“52 games will be broadcast on Television (TBC 1 and TBC 2) while 64 encounters will be aired on radio (TBC Taifa and TBC FM),” he says.
The corporation’s broadcasters and analysts will cover the contest directly from Ivory Coast and ensure that viewers and listeners receive the best coverage through HD access.
“We will ensure that we give our people the best of the competition through HD access just like we did to the 2022 World Cup finals held in Qatar,” he says.
The country’s envoys, Taifa Stars, are already in Ivory Coast, ready for the finals, and their first fixture will be played on January 17th against Morocco.
