Rollpay Africa, in collaboration with Nile Entertainment, recently hosted the Film Tech Connect Exhibition at Nile Cinemas in Lekki, Lagos. The groundbreaking event united entertainment, technology and business leaders to explore the future of film and technology in Africa.
The exhibition drew an impressive lineup of attendees, including the CEO of Nile Group, Moses Babatope; the CEO of Rollpay Africa, Eric Okyerefo; as well as notable personalities such as Richard Mofe-Damijo, Linda Ikeji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Uche Okocha. Filmmakers like Biodun Stephen, Judith Audu and Kayode Kasum also graced the event.
A key highlight was the unveiling of Rollpay Africa’s innovative platform, designed to streamline payments for cast, crew and vendors.
The exhibition also featured two engaging panel discussions led by industry experts in film financing, talent management, legal affairs and content distribution. The first panel, titled, ‘Navigating the Future: Building Innovative Distribution Solutions for Filmmakers’, focused on improving financial management and content distribution for filmmakers. The second panel, ‘Navigating the Future of FilmTech: Challenges and Solutions for Filmmakers’, addressed current industry challenges and the role of technology in streamlining the filmmaking process.
One of the key speakers, Jadesola Campbell, emphasised the importance of investment in the creative sector, saying, “We help investors find great projects while giving creatives access to safe funding. Our distribution-as-a-service solutions empower creatives to leverage new and existing channels.”
On his part, Moses Babatope remarked on the power of collaboration, “Collaboration is a core of our values, and in partnership with Rollpay, a revolutionary technology product for the film industry, we’ve created the Film x Tech Connect Exhibition Day, a dynamic event packed with film presentations, panel discussions, tech showcases, and networking opportunities.”
