CINEMA: ‘The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3’ Makes Box Office History In West Africa

According to industry reports, film director Omoni Oboli’s latest movie, The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3, has achieved significant success at the West African box office, grossing an impressive US$17,170.31.

The film has broken several records, including the highest ticket pre-sale for a Nollywood film, the highest opening weekend for a Nollywood crime thriller, the biggest opening weekend for an October Nollywood release, and the highest opening weekend for the Wives on Strike franchise.

Omoni Oboli expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the cast, crew, and audience for their contributions to the film’s success. She thanked everyone for their love, support, and trust, emphasizing that this achievement is not just a win for the team but for everyone who has been part of this journey.

The film, which has already earned US$6,088.76 in voucher sales within two days of its release, is currently showing in cinemas. The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 is a satire that revolves around a female local government official who grapples with the challenges of her newfound authority and personal life.

The movie features a talented cast ensemble, including Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Ufuoma McDermott, Hilda Dokubo, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (KieKie), and May Yul-Edochie.
