Nollywood filmmaker Daniel Oriahi’s latest movie, “The Weekend,” has made an impressive splash at the box office. Within just two days of its release, the film has raked in over US$5,034.26 in ticket sales, according to an official statement from the movie’s distributor, Filmone Entertainment.

The distributor took to social media to celebrate the film’s success, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support. “The Weekend” has caught the attention of audiences, pulling in impressive numbers at the box office and setting a new record with its rapid success.

This achievement comes on the heels of the film’s premiere and its selection for the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

Produced by Uche Okocha of Trino Motion Pictures, the psychological thriller follows the story of an orphaned woman seeking a sense of belonging, only to uncover dark secrets within her fiance’s seemingly perfect family. The cast includes Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Bucci Franklin, Meg Otanwa, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Gloria Anozie-Young, and Damilola Ogunsi.
