Ramsey Nouah, a well-known Nigerian actor and director, has recently gained recognition for his third directorial feature, Tòkunbò, which has secured a position in the Top 10 global chart on Netflix.
Nouah, who won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in The Figurine, made his directorial debut in 2019 with the widely acclaimed remake of Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.
Tòkunbò narrates the story of a former car smuggler who finds himself compelled to transport a government official’s daughter to her captor within a tight timeframe or else face severe repercussions for his family. The film offers a gripping portrayal of the criminal underworld and the desperation that fuels it.
Produced by Chris Odeh, Tòkunbò features a talented ensemble cast, including Gideon Okeke, Chidi Mokeme, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Nobert Young, Majid Michael, Adunni Ade, and others.
In addition to Tòkunbò, other notable films on the streaming platform’s Top 10 chart this week include Something Like Gold, The Union, and House of Ga’a.
