The Nollywood film Muri and Ko, which has seen a significant rise in the box office rankings, tells the story of a thief named Muri. The film has grossed a total of US$32,726.06, according to data published on Saturday, June 22, 2024, by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN).
CEAN published the report on the top 10 films exhibited in Nigeria, including their gross view from June 14, 2024, to June 20, 2024.
Muri and Ko follows the story of a thief named Muri, who steals a car and later discovers that a child is in it. Despite the US$6,532.15 bounty on his head and also trying to evade the police for kidnapping the child, he and the youngster grow closer.
The Hollywood film Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which held the number one spot for three weeks at the box office, made a total of US$65,844.05 during the period, bringing its gross to a total of US$141,094.39.
With a weekly total of US$26,781.81, the Nollywood movie Muri and Ko has not only surpassed Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the top-grossing Nollywood film at the box office for three weeks, but also the Hollywood film Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is ranked fourth after raking in US$26,781.81 during the period. It has grossed a total of US$101,901.51.
