The Walt Disney Company EMEA made a series of exciting announcements during the Series Mania event. They revealed four greenlit projects that will be part of their upcoming EMEA Original titles for Disney+ in France, Germany, and Spain.

The company is committed to commissioning content across the region, with a pipeline of productions in Italy, the Netherlands, and the Nordics. Liam Keelan, Senior Vice President of Original Content, Europe and Africa, Disney+, along with other key executives, made the announcements during a panel discussion at the Series Mania Forum.

One greenlit project is The Lost Station Girls, an Original series based on a true crime story set in Southern France between 1995 and 2001. The series follows the disappearance of a teenage girl and the subsequent murders of three young women around a train station in Perpignan. It was created by Gaëlle Bellan and produced by Itinéraire Productions. The series stars Camille Razat.

Vienna Game is a six-part series produced by Bettina Kuhn for Satel Film and written by co-creator Stefan Brunner. The series is currently filming in Austria and Hungary and offers a political game of luck, money, love, and power against the backdrop of Vienna’s opulence.

Spain contributes two Originals to the lineup: Lucrecia: A Murder In Madrid and Return to Las Sabinas. Lucrecia: A Murder In Madrid is an unscripted series delving into the murder of Lucrecia Pérezs in a Madrid nightclub in 1992, featuring archival material and first-person testimonies. Return to Las Sabinas comprises 70 episodes released daily on Disney+, produced in collaboration with Diagonal TV (Banijay Group). The series follows the Molina sisters’ return to their hometown, Montana, where they confront past secrets at their family estate, Las Sabinas.

To add to their growing slate, Keelan expressed his excitement about the upcoming releases of some incredible new shows, including German Original Pauline, Spanish Original Past Past Lies, and French Original Becoming Karl Lagerfeld. The company is thrilled to work with world-class talent in front and behind the scenes to ensure their output is premium and popular.
