A popular fashion competition show called “Shopping Monsters” will premiere on Canal+ in Francophone Africa starting March 25th. The show, developed in Turkey and distributed by Global Agency, is a daytime program that combines competition, gossip, makeovers, and style.
Canal+ is a French-language television network in 25 African countries with over 8.1 million subscribers. They have also produced a local version of the show for African audiences.
“Shopping Monsters” is a makeover competition series that has already been sold to 40 countries, including Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, and Morocco. M6 in France and Vox TV in Germany have also aired thousands of episodes.
The show features five women from different backgrounds who participate in a four-hour shopping marathon every week. They have to dress stylishly according to the weekly theme while sticking to a budget of US$1,000. Their fellow competitors judge them, and the one who scores the highest points wins.
According to Global Agency, the participants must make the most of their limited budget while complying with the week’s concept, all within a four-hour time limit. The show is full of gossip and backstabbing.
