Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) series “#IndustryLeadersSpeak”, recently interviewed with Dr Yemisi Bamgbose, the Executive Secretary of the Broadcasting Organisations Of Nigeria’s (BON).
During the conversation, BMA’s publisher, Mr Benjamin Pius, asked Yemisi Bamgbose about his views on the current status of Nigeria’s Digital-Switch-Over (DSO). Furthermore, BMA inquired from Dr Bamgbose on what steps he envisioned to better realise the DSO goals and objectives.
Dr Bamgbose spotlighted various challenges faced by the country, such as funding, among other delaying constituents. Additionally, he considered steps that would assist in better realising the goals and objectives of the DSO regardless of the restraints. According to the Executive Secretary, the most practical step would be borrowing existing strategies from countries that have been able to secure and implement their digitisation strategy successfully. This would assist in limiting trial and error, and by that, ensuring that Nigeria reaches its goal of migrating from analogue to digital timeously.
