Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) would, under its “#IndustryLeadersSpeak” series, be in conversation with Ms Makhosazana Khanyile, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF).
The interview is set to highlight and provide inside details on the plans Ms Khanyile has for the NFVF. Following Ms Kanyile’s tenure as CEO, the NFVF, an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture and custodian of the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), has secured various partnerships aimed at the sustainable growth and development of the South African film and television industry.
In more recent news, the organisation acquired partnerships with entities such as the Netherlands Film Fund, TikTok and Netflix, to name a few.
Makhosazana joined the NFVF at a time when the organisation was swindled in scandals. But with outstanding leadership, she managed to bring integrity back to the SAFTAs as well as the NFVF.
More recently, Ms Kanyile has acquired her MBA with the Henley Business School. In addition, Makhosazana has continued to invest in her skills by completing leadership, management, and employee relationships courses throughout her career. Prior to her engagement with the NFVF, Khanyile was the Director of Marketing, On-Air and Creative services and Communications at Fox Network Group Africa. In that role, she led the positioning strategy for eight Fox Network Group Channels.
According to Makhosazana, becoming part of the Fox team, a globally recognised brand, allowed her to utilise her skills and passions on an international platform.
