MultiChoice Namibia, together with the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), is extending an invitation to filmmakers and producers to submit film proposals that showcase authentic Namibian stories.
These made-for-TV films aim to provide a pool of exciting and compelling new local content.
The broadcaster mentioned that it is high time for local creatives to exhibit their craft by creating content that will speak to a diverse audience.
Roger Gertze, the Managing Director, said, “with this contribution from MultiChoice into the industry, we are committed to supporting production houses, including talented actors, writers and filmmakers.”
During the media briefing, announcing the Call for Submissions, MultiChoice Namibia and NBC agreed on the renewal of the carriage agreement.
Over the years, MultiChoice has exhibited authentic Namibian stories on their platforms through a carriage agreement that has made the national broadcaster’s channels available on DStv and GOtv.
For many years, NBC has been the custodian of the national broadcaster and exhibiting local content.
MultiChoice Namibia has enormously assisted us with broadening our spectrum through its platforms. The renewal of the carriage agreement further strengthens our long-standing partnership to deliver quality local content to our audiences, and the implementation of the Call for Submissions is proof of that,” said NBC Director-General, Stanely Benjamin Similo
