MultiChoice, a pan-African pay-tv operator, will launch ‘Me’, a channel with a wide selection of international programming, on November 1. The channel will be available to DStv Family and DStv Compact viewers and DStv Premium and DStv Compact Plus subscribers.
‘Me’ will combine the two channels, M-Net City 115 and Vuzu 116, to create a bigger, better channel that will provide viewers with their favourite, world-class series and reality shows in one place.
According to Multichoice Group’s CEO of General Entertainment, Yolisa Phahle, the pay-tv operator is revamping its content packaging to provide a single, comprehensive, and well-curated destination. ‘Me’ will offer a diverse, competitive channel offering to viewers and subscribers, and MultiChoice is excited to provide the most refined international entertainment within one place.
Vuzu 116 has always been the authentic voice of an edgier African youth, whereas M-Net City 115 was launched as a channel to catch up on the latest and best international series. ‘Me’ will blend the unique elements of both of its predecessors while also building a fresh identity that has been carefully created with the discerning audience in mind.
‘Me’ is a channel aimed mainly at the 18 to 34-year-old demographic, and it will feature lifestyle shows and celebrity content previously seen on M-Net Channel 101 and 1Magic, in addition to international scripted content. “Me is leading us in an interesting route that resonates to the multiplatform world we live in and sharpens our goal of providing content that our subscribers connect with,” concludes Phahle.
