Employees and contractors of Multichoice South Africa must return to work on February 1, 2022, according to an email obtained by BMA Sources from CEO Calvo Mawela. Multichoice management has decided that employees and contractors must return to the office because vaccination rates are up and case numbers are down, according to Mawela.
“All Multichoice South Africa employees and contractors will return to work on a rotational basis on February 1 2022, if the regulation still only allows for 50 per cent occupation,” Mawela stated.
“However, if the regulations allow for 100 per cent occupation, all employees will be compelled to report for duty as per their letters of appointment.”
Multichoice has also decided that by February 1, 2022, all employees, contractors, agencies, suppliers, and partners who engage with the company must be fully vaccinated.
“To ensure orderly and timely entry to Multichoice premises, starting on February 1 2022, all parties must provide Multichoice with proof of being fully vaccinated in the form of the official vaccine certificate provided by no later than January 20 2022,” Mawela added.
All contractors and service providers must adhere to all policies applicable at Multichoice premises, an important term of all their service agreements, Mawela stated.
“A mandatory vaccine policy is now necessary for the proper operation of our organisation, and all employees and service providers are expected to comply.”
The benefits of vaccination against Covid-19, according to Mawela, have been scientifically proven.
“Vaccinated people are three times less likely to infect others and exponentially less likely to become seriously unwell,” he noted.
