Senior Research Assistant

Selina-Emma is a senior research assistant and the current resident cameraperson at the
Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana from November 2011. She holds a
Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Motion Picture Photography from the National Film and
Television Institute and a Master’s Degree in Media Management from the Ghana Institute
of Journalism. Her interest in cultural heritage and archiving was activated after she
participated in the FIAF School on Wheels in Accra in July, 2012.
Her interests include: collecting and preserving oral history, transcribing, Photo cataloging,
photo conservation and editing and policy formulation for cultural heritage. She was a local
assistant for the SOIMA 2017 International Training Workshop in Accra. In June-July 2018
she served as an intern at the ICCROM’s headquarters for the collections unit and SOIMA.
She is a member of IASA.
