
BMA has learnt that a new Disney+ Original ten-part collection of premium original animated short films called “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ later this year.
Inspired by Africa’s diverse histories and cultures, the series features an action-packed animated sci-fi anthology that presents ten futuristic visions from the continent.
The ten creators span the length and breadth of Africa and include Ahmed Teilab from Egypt, Simangaliso’ Panda’ Sibaya and Malcolm Wope from South Africa, Terence Maluleke and Isaac Mogajane from South Africa, Ng’endo Mukii from Kenya, Shofela Coker from Nigeria, Nthato Mokgata and Catherine Green from South Africa, Pious Nyenyewa and Tafadzwa Hove from Zimbabwe, Tshepo Moche from South Africa, Raymond Malinga from Uganda, and Lesego Vorster from South Africa.
The sci-fi series features an exciting cast from across the globe, including the voices of Florence Kasumba, Kehinde Bankole, Pearl Thusi, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Sheila Munyiva, Stycie Waweru, Candice Modiselle, Lillian Dube, Clementine Mosimane, and Mandisa Nduna, as well as comedians Tumi Morake, Sne Dladla, and Tyson Ngubeni and rappers Nasty C and Gigi Lamayne.
The series executive producers are Peter Ramsey, an Oscar-winning filmmaker, Tendayi Nyeke, and Anthony Silverston. Triggerfish is the anthology’s principal studio, and they are collaborating with animation studios worldwide and in the continent of North America.
“Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” is set to debut in 2023, exclusively on Disney+.
