Bundesliga International has extended its broadcast agreements with two major pay-TV partners in Sub-Saharan Africa and added a third partner ahead of the 2024-25 Bundesliga season.

StarTimes and Azam TV will continue to broadcast the German top flight for an additional three years, with the new deals concluding at the end of the 2026-27 season. StarTimes has also acquired the rights to Bundesliga 2, expanding its coverage of German football. Both broadcasters will continue to show matches in English and various local languages across Sub-Saharan Africa.

In addition, ZAP has partnered with Bundesliga International to deliver Portuguese coverage to Angola and Mozambique for the next three seasons. This aims to enhance engagement with football fans in these countries.

The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has also secured partnerships with additional broadcasters to expand regional coverage. SABC in South Africa will continue to provide national coverage of Bundesliga matches. Media Business Solutions (MBS) has been awarded the free-to-air rights to broadcast one match per matchday across Sub-Saharan Africa. Moreover, Canal+ and New World Television will continue to feature the Bundesliga in Francophone Africa.

Bundesliga International’s Chief Marketing Officer, Peer Naubert, expressed the league’s commitment to delivering exceptional broadcasts showcasing African talent and creating opportunities for fans of all ages to engage with the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga has a rich history in Africa and continues to grow in popularity, and the league is dedicated to realizing its goals in collaboration with its network of strong partners.

African players in the Bundesliga, such as Odilon Kossounou, Sebastian Haller, Serhou Guirassy, and Victor Boniface, have continued to shine on the world stage, further enhancing the league’s appeal in the region.
