MTN Group has recently made significant changes to its leadership structure with the appointment of Stephen Blewett and Ali Monzer as CEOs of its operations in Ghana and Sudan, respectively.
Blewett, a seasoned telecom industry professional, took over as CEO of MTN Ghana in December, succeeding Selorm Adadevoh, who has assumed the role of group chief commercial officer. With a focus on driving the company’s ambitious 2025 agenda, Blewett will also be providing operational support to the senior vice president for markets across the West and Central African region.
Meanwhile, Ali Monzer, who brings over 23 years of telecom sector experience, has been appointed as the CEO of MTN’s Sudan business. Having previously served as MTN Uganda’s chief technology and information officer, Monzer faces the challenge of navigating Sudan’s complex and volatile business environment, where service revenue declined by 12.3% year on year in the financial year ending December 2023.
These executive appointments mark a significant milestone for MTN Group as it continues to strengthen its leadership team to drive growth and navigate challenges across its key markets.
