Additionally, while DTT and satellite infrastructure are in place, the full integration of IPTV, mobile TV, and OTT services is still evolving.
Despite these challenges, broadcasters, content creators, and technologists are seizing new opportunities. Digital platforms are expanding their reach to diverse audiences, while the convergence of broadcast and broadband enables mobile-first content delivery.
Investment in local productions is fostering cultural pride and economic growth. Digital broadcasting generates new revenue streams through subscriptions, pay-per-view, targeted ads, and syndication. Regional collaboration promises to create a vibrant, interconnected media market.
The Broadcasters Convention – East Africa 2025, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, will be a key platform for addressing the region’s digital broadcasting transition. The event will unite industry leaders, regulators, and technologists to explore the milestones achieved, persistent challenges, and emerging opportunities.
