The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Dubai Studios, a state broadcaster Dubai Media subsidiary, announced a significant long-term partnership at Mipcom in Cannes.
The agreement, signed by H.E. Mohamed Al Mulla, Group CEO of Dubai Media, and Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy, aims to enhance television excellence from the UAE and promote cross-cultural collaborations within the global entertainment industry.
“This strategic partnership aligns with Dubai’s vision to amplify its media presence on a global scale,” said H.E. Mohamed Al Mulla. He emphasised the importance of content creators whose voices reflect local culture and language, noting that the industry is responsible for supporting these narratives.
In 2025, Dubai Studios will also sponsor the International Emmy World Television Festival and the International Emmy Awards Gala in New York. Additionally, it will host a semi-final round of judging events for the International Emmy Awards competition in Dubai each year.
“We are delighted to welcome Dubai Studios as a sponsor of the International Academy,” commented Bruce L. Paisner. “We look forward to bringing the global television community together in Dubai for Academy Day.”
Dubai Studios will also host an invite-only “Academy Day in Dubai” for International Academy Members, with the date to be announced soon. This exclusive four-day networking event aims to spotlight the region’s culture and media industry, fostering a deeper understanding of local business models and cultural institutions to facilitate cross-border collaboration.
