

The African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) has officially announced that it will hold its 16th General Assembly from June 18 to 20, 2025, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This year’s theme is “Empowering the Media: What Strategies for Financial and Technological Resilience and Innovative Content?”
The conference is set to bring together Directors General from media organisations, broadcasting executives, policymakers, academics, content creators, and industry partners across Africa. This high-level event will explore digital technologies’ evolving challenges and opportunities in the broadcasting sector.
Key discussion topics will include strategies for maintaining high-quality content amidst financial pressures, enhancing competitiveness, and adapting to rapid technological changes. Participants will also address the rising costs associated with satellite broadcasting and their impact on African broadcasters’ budgets.
Additionally, the AUB will recognise excellence in African broadcast production at the AUB MEDIA AWARDS 2025, celebrating outstanding achievements in the field.
As a professional organisation, the AUB represents both public and private radio and television entities, striving to advance all facets of broadcasting across Africa.
