As the AI-driven digital revolution continues to redefine how audiences engage with media, Africa’s radio and audio broadcasting sector stands at a transformative crossroads—one where innovation in content creation, packaging, and distribution will determine its future relevance and impact.

According to the event organizers, the 6th Edition of the Radio Broadcasters Convention – Africa 2025, co-convened by Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) and Southern Africa Broadcasting Association (SABA) and hosted by the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), will place a strategic spotlight on this critical transformation.

The summit, titled “Future of Radio and Audio Services: Pathways to Successful A–Z Transformation,” will bring together broadcasters, creators, technologists, and policymakers to explore how content innovation can drive audience growth and deeper engagement in a competitive digital ecosystem.

At the heart of this year’s agenda, organizers say, is the call to develop bold and ground-breaking approaches to content creation, packaging, and distribution that reflect new consumption habits, embrace digital formats, and respond to the needs of increasingly mobile, connected, and content-savvy African audiences.

Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, noted: “In this new era, it is no longer just about transmitting sound — it is about crafting experiences. The future of radio in Africa depends on how well we innovate around content creation and distribution. Ideas become blueprints in this industry meeting, and collaboration sparks real transformation.”

Visit here to learn more about the forthcoming platform on which industry leaders will reimagine the role of radio—not as a static legacy medium but as a dynamic, interactive service capable of delivering rich, curated, and highly accessible content to millions across the continent.
