Broadcasters’ Convention East Africa: Unlocking The Power Of AI For Broadcasters In Africa
Industry Convention

The broadcast media sector is Africa on the verge of a revolutionary age, with digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) already transforming TV, video, radio and audio content distribution by broadcast media.

For example, East Africa has witnessed significant developments in broadcasting – with a notable shift towards digital platforms. Traditional media outlets are extending their reach through digital terrestrial television (DTT), Direct-To-Home (DTT) services via satellites, and Over-The-Top (OTT) streaming services.

Now, with AI set to transform the creation and dissemination of content in broadcasting, industry players can do even more extraordinary things.

According to its organisers, the forthcoming Broadcasters’ Convention – East Africa 2025 in Kampala, Uganda, will bring broadcasters, content producers and distributors, solutions providers, and policymakers together to focus on how best the region’s players can benefit from AI technologies’ tremendous application benefits.

“In today’s fast-evolving media landscape, broadcasters across Africa must embrace technology to tell stories better, reach wider audiences, and create lasting impact,” said Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa, the convention’s Convener.

The industry convention, co-convened with the Ugandan Broadcasting Corporation and the Ugandan Communications Commission as Hosts and principal supporters, is the first to help set the course for the future of broadcast media in the region.
