Airtel Africa Plc, a major telecommunications and mobile money services provider operating across 14 African nations, has revealed that Cynthia Gordon will join its board as an independent non-executive director starting 1 April 2025.
In her new role, Cynthia will lend her experience to the company’s remuneration committee. Cynthia’s current portfolio comprises appointments as the Non-Executive Director and the Remuneration Committee Chair of Bodycote Plc, a FTSE 250 industrial services company, and Severfield Plc, a leading structural steel company. Additionally, she is the non-executive chair of Global Fashion Group, a Luxembourg-based e-commerce company listed in Frankfurt. She is also a senior consultant for Tillman Global Holdings, focusing on infrastructure investment.
Her previous board roles include positions at Eutelsat Communications SA, Tele2, and Kinnevik. On the executive front, Cynthia’s career highlights feature leadership roles at prominent telecom companies such as Millicom, Ooredoo, and Orange. Notably, she served as CEO of Millicom Africa, overseeing operations in six countries, and as Group Commercial Director at Ooredoo, managing commercial performance across 15 markets.
