OTT Conference

Conveners of the upcoming 5th Edition of the OTT Streaming Africa Summit, set to take place on 18 – 19 February 2025 at the Capital 15 On Orange in Cape Town, South Africa, have confirmed that the challenge of retaining subscribers in an increasingly competitive streaming market will be front and centre at the summit.

Hosted by Broadcast Media Africa, in collaboration with the Southern Africa Broadcasters Association (SABA) – the 5th annual edition of this flagship event will gather industry leaders and innovators to explore practical strategies for boosting customer retention in Africa’s dynamic OTT and streaming landscape.

As streaming services proliferate across the continent, offering audiences diverse choices and ensuring long-term subscriber loyalty have become critical focus for OTT platforms.

The summit will spotlight best practices, technological innovations, and engaging content strategies that help platforms attract and retain users.

Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa and convenor of the summit, underlined the importance of retention strategies: “In today’s competitive streaming environment, retaining subscribers is just as critical as acquiring them. This requires platforms to not only deliver quality content but also build meaningful connections with their audiences through personalised experiences and local storytelling. The OTT Streaming Africa Summit 2025 will be the ideal platform to share ideas, tools, and strategies that empower stakeholders to keep audiences engaged and loyal while navigating the unique challenges of the African market.”

The OTT Streaming Africa Summit 2025 is a must-attend event for anyone invested in Africa’s evolving media landscape.
