According to industry reports, Nigeria’s “Farmer’s Bride,” directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, has achieved a significant milestone by grossing US$69,425.77 since its release.

The film’s producers and distributors, FilmOne Studios, proudly announced this achievement in a recent statement, expressing gratitude to Nigeria and Ghana for their love and support. The film continues to captivate audiences and is still showing in cinemas.

Earlier this month, “Farmer’s Bride” raked in US$54,391.67 in ticket sales within 12 days of its release. During its opening weekend, it earned US$22,612.27, securing the position of the second highest-grossing movie for that weekend, following “Queen Lateefah.” Notably, it also claimed the title of the highest Nollywood opening weekend for an 18-rated film in 2024 and the fourth highest in 2024 overall.

Set in 1980s Ibadan, “Farmer’s Bride” narrates the story of Odun, a wealthy but lonely farmer who seeks companionship through marriage with a young bride, Funmi. However, their union encounters numerous challenges as Funmi grapples with finding happiness and ultimately engages in a forbidden affair with Odun’s nephew. The repercussions of their actions unfold into a haunting tale of love, betrayal, and the supernatural.

The film boasts an exceptional cast, including Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola.

In other news, James Abinibi’s ‘Life and Dirt’ has secured the top position on Prime Video charts in Nigeria and two countries.
