The Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (IBAN), at the last Emergency Extra-Ordinary General Meeting held on August 30th, 2024, assembled a new Board of Trustees (BOT) and Executive Council and signalled a renewed commitment to revitalising the nation’s broadcast industry in the face of daunting challenges.

The newly-elected members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) are:

  • John Momoh (Chairman)
  • Osa Sonny Adun
  • Raymond Dokpesi Jnr.
  • Ben Bruce
  • Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa
  • Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan
  • Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed
  • Mr. Tony Dara
  • Toun Okewale Sonaiya
  • Tatiana Mousali
  • Lemi Olalemi

Following the meeting, IBAN also issued a communique urging the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) (the country’s broadcast media regulator) to adopt a more inclusive approach and involve relevant stakeholders to drive the sector forward.

The association is seeking urgent discussions with the Honourable Minister for Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, and the Director-General of NBC to address contentious issues concerning the Digital Switch Over (DSO) and matters related to Set-Top-Box manufacturers.

IBAN says it is fully committed to supporting and uplifting Nigeria’s broadcast industry during these challenging times.
