Paratus, an independent provider of last-mile and satellite-based connectivity, has become the first company to offer Starlink services in Botswana.
This follows the recent approval from the Botswana government for the Starlink license, a move that Paratus Botswana had eagerly anticipated.
Customers in Botswana can now order directly from Paratus. The company maintains local stock and provides round-the-clock telephonic support, installation services, and technical guidance, including integration into existing networks and warranty assistance.
Shawn Bruwer, the Managing Director of Paratus Botswana, expressed his excitement about providing Starlink services in the country, particularly for those in remote and rural areas who have been eagerly awaiting a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
He emphasised that Starlink is a game-changer, offering an affordable, user-friendly satellite option that ensures nationwide high-speed broadband internet connectivity. Bruwer also highlighted Paratus’ commitment to Botswana and its goal of “Vision 2036” to connect more people in the country.
This development means that industries such as mining, financial services, hospitality, tourism, education, and businesses operating in remote areas will now have access to reliable, secure, and fast internet connectivity.
