Dynamics Of Digital-Enabled Radio Under Spotlight At Africa’s Broadcast Media Convention 2024
Industry Conference

The organisers of the upcoming Broadcast and Digital Media Convention 2024, set to take place from the 8th to 10th of October 2024 at the Swakopmund Legacy Hotel, Namibia, are putting a spotlight on a topic that is increasingly crucial in today’s digital age-the transformative power of digital-enabled radio and sound broadcasting.

As traditional media continues to evolve in response to technological advancements, the radio and sound broadcasting sectors must find innovative ways to meet the changing demands of their consumers. This is a key focus of the upcoming Broadcast and Digital Media Convention 2024.

For broadcasters, the move towards digital is not just about better sound; it’s about fundamentally transforming the radio experience. Listeners today expect seamless integration across devices, on-demand content, and the ability to engage with their favourite shows or music in real time.

Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of BMA, commented, “The upcoming Broadcast and Digital Media Convention 2024 presents a timely opportunity for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore these issues in depth and chart a course for the future of digital radio in Africa. Broadcasters can survive and thrive in this new digital era by leveraging the latest technological advancements and keeping a finger on the pulse of consumer demand.”

Hosted by the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and convened by the Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) and the Southern African Broadcasting Association (SABA) with support from industry partners including Intelsat, LAWO AG, France24 and many others.
