As digital platforms continue to evolve, consumer behaviour shifts, and technology advances, advertisers and broadcasters face new challenges and opportunities. The 8th Annual Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – Africa 2024, set to take place from 8-10 October 2024 in The Swakopmund Legacy Hotel, Swakopmund, Namibia, is more than just an event – it’s a pivotal gathering that will influence the future of television advertising in this rapidly changing landscape. Industry professionals cannot afford to miss this opportunity.

Hosted by the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation and organised by the Southern Africa Broadcasting Association (SABA) and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), this convention will also coincide with SABA’s 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM). It serves as a vibrant forum for Africa’s broadcast and digital media professionals and senior executives to explore the latest innovations in the industry.

Commenting on the significance of the convention, Mr. Stanely Similo, Director General of Namibia Broadcasting Corporation and President of SABA, stated, “The future of television is filled with exciting changes and opportunities. As we convene at the 8th Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – Africa 2024 in Swakopmund, it’s evident that embracing adaptation and innovation will be key to thriving in this new era.”

Mr Similo further emphasised, “By adopting data-driven strategies, investing in cutting-edge technology, fostering collaboration, prioritising consumer privacy, and experimenting with new broadcasting formats, the industry can successfully navigate this evolving landscape and unlock the full potential of television advertising. The road ahead is dynamic and challenging, but prepared people will find it incredibly rewarding.”

With its theme, ‘Broadcasting and Content Publishing in the AI-Infused Digital Ecosystem,’ the convention will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions. These sessions will offer a wealth of knowledge and insight into the industry’s latest trends, technologies, and challenges, ensuring all participants are equipped to move forward together.

Industry executives and professionals interested in participating are encouraged to visit the event website here for more information.
