Showmax has recently released a teaser for a new documentary series titled Freeman, which delves into Nigeria’s Igbo apprenticeship system.

The show features prominent Igbo businessmen, including Dr Anene Okeke, Dr Cosmas Maduka, Obinna Iyiegbu (popularly known as Obi Cubana), and Ndubuisi Ekekwe, alongside other entrepreneurs, who share their personal stories and reflections on how the Igbo apprenticeship system shaped their careers and paved the way for their entrepreneurial success.

Freeman is co-produced by Tobechukwu Ejiofor, who also made the soundtrack for the series.

The documentary is structured in four parts, providing an in-depth exploration of the Igbo apprenticeship system, with each segment offering a unique perspective on the apprentice journey.

Busola Tejumola, the executive head of content and West Africa channels at MultiChoice, expressed her excitement about the documentary, saying that it is intended to showcase the rich culture in Nigeria.

Daro Umaigba, the director and co-producer of Freeman, also expressed his excitement, describing the documentary as a valuable resource for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking mentorship insights.

Freeman will begin streaming exclusively on Showmax starting February 12, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday.
