The second day of the Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – East Africa, hosted by habeshaview and convened by Broadcast Media Media, which took place on the 8th May 2024, offered an array of insightful presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Held at the Hyatt Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the event attracted professionals and industry leaders across the digital media spectrum.
Paul Were, Senior Sales Director at Intelsat, set the day’s tone with an illuminating presentation on “Leveraging Satellite Innovation For Cost-Effective Content Distribution Everywhere .” He discussed the crucial role of satellite technology in reaching remote and underserved regions, enabling greater access to digital content and improving communication infrastructure.
Another day’s keynote presentation came from Ralf Schimmel, Senior Sales Director – Africa of LAWO AG. His talk, titled “Decoupling Hardware From Software In Broadcast,” explored the latest advancements in broadcasting equipment and workflows. Schimmel highlighted the shift towards IP-based production and the benefits it brings in terms of flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Day Two of the Broadcast and Digital Media Convention – East Africa concluded with a panel discussion on “Content Creation in the Digital Age,” where industry experts shared their experiences and insights on producing engaging and relevant content. The session provided valuable takeaways for content creators and broadcasters seeking to stay ahead in the digital media landscape.
